So... Who Am I?

Hello! I’m Bryan, although around here you’ll usually find me hiding behind the name Bored Skull.

Bored Skull is where I throw my various interests, ideas, creations and occasional bouts of complete nonsense into one place. Apparently having hobbies wasn’t enough. I needed a website to contain them.

I’m a gamer, music creator, occasional writer and technology enthusiast who can become interested in almost anything given enough time. One day I might be creating a dark gothic song, the next talking about gaming, history, technology or something completely ridiculous.

That is pretty much the spirit of BoredSkull.net.

What Is Bored Skull?

It’s a general chat site.

There isn't one grand subject you need to be interested in, and there certainly isn't an entrance exam.

Bored Skull is intended to be an old-fashioned corner of the internet where people can actually talk to each other.

Remember forums? Remember conversations that lasted longer than twelve seconds? Remember when the internet wasn't entirely about algorithms deciding what you should be angry about today?

Yeah. That.

Topics can wander through gaming, music, films, television, technology, hobbies, history, everyday life, random questions and whatever else somebody decides might make an interesting conversation.

Some discussions might be thoughtful. Some might be useful. Some will probably be completely pointless. Those are often the best ones.

We're Not Trying to Solve the Universe

There are plenty of places online for Very Serious Internet Business™. Bored Skull doesn't need to be another one.

Relax. Talk. Laugh. Share things. Meet people.
Don't take everything quite so seriously.

You don't need the perfect opinion. You don't need thousands of followers. And you definitely don't need to turn every disagreement into a battle to the death.

Sometimes it's perfectly acceptable to discuss something ridiculous for three pages and achieve absolutely nothing.

Consider it time well wasted.

And Then There's the Music... 🎵

Bored Skull is also home to my music and creative projects. I write everything from gothic and haunting pieces to emotional songs, experimental ideas and comedy tracks that probably should have remained inside my head.

AI-assisted production lets me turn those ideas into actual music, which means the Bored Skull catalogue continues to grow at a slightly alarming rate.

So yes, gothic music can sit comfortably beside gaming discussions, random questions and conversations about absolutely nothing.

That's kind of the point.

You don't have to know me, and you definitely don't have to be interested in everything I'm interested in.

In fact, please don't be. That would make for a very strange forum.

Bring your own interests. Start conversations. Reply to somebody else's. Share recommendations. Ask questions. Post something funny. Resurrect a discussion everyone forgot existed six months ago.

The goal isn't to build another giant social network. It's simply to create a friendly little community where people can drop in, have a conversation and hopefully enjoy themselves.
